CUT 7 is the extraordinary story of one man's passion and determination for motor racing, in a pioneering era when anything was possible and death lurked around every corner.

Elmer Richard (Dick) Protheroe, a former RAF pilot who had lost an eye, brought three Jaguar E-Types into legend under the CUT 7 registration. The most famous, a Low Drag designed by Malcolm Sayer, even managed to dominate Ferrari GTOs in long-distance racing between 1963 and 1964. Protheroe, an obsessively perfectionist mechanic and determined driver, claimed numerous victories before losing his life in 1966 at Oulton Park.
CUT 7 remains one of the most iconic racing E-Types to this day. It still runs and regularly appears at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The new SYE CUT 7 collection pays tribute to this legendary machine by reimagining its MOT1ON Chronograph model.

LIKE A MECHANICAL CHRONO

To power our Chronograph, we selected a meca-quartz hybrid Seiko watch movement which is amazingly precise (32 Hz). It provides the best of 2 worlds by combining a precise quartz movement with the familiar mechanical tick.

Its central second hand beats at one fifth of a second and the watch immediately recovers its initial position with a single press of the pusher placed at 4 o’clock.

As for its lifespan, you should only need to replace the battery every three years.

We have taken every step to make sure your strap stays with you as long as possible - metal inserts seamlessly incorporated into the leather increase longevity and perfectly sync with the watch body. A folding deployment buckle maintains your strap’s shape and protects it from marks. Want a proof? Our 1st prototype, at the top of the picture, still wears perfectly after 4 years!
